Edina Morningside Nursery School has served children and their families in surrounding communities for over 60 years.  We are a licensed, half-day, multi-age program for children 33 mos. to 5 years. The morning session is 9:00-11:30am, afternoon session is 12:30-3:00pm . The school year runs Tuesday through Thursday, September through May. Tuition is $170 per month for afternoons, $180 per month for mornings, with full or partial scholarships available. An extended lunch program is offered for a small additional fee. Two-day program options are considered at the discretion of the Director.

At Edina Morningside Nursery School we have taken the best of our 60-year tradition of play-based learning fostering socialization, self-esteem, and independence and enhanced it with fun and creative kindergarten readiness activities! We teach using a theme approach, coordinating our music, art and small group activities into cohesive units. Children enjoy show and tell, story time, and play group games while developing social and academic skills. Class sessions include free-play, music, drama and movement, rhythm and band, singing, storytelling, art and science activities.
Edina Morningside Nursery School seeks to foster the intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth of each child Our mission is to accept, love and understand each child as an individual and to create a happy atmosphere in which each child can grow and become creatively engaged and aware of their world.
In keeping with the Edina Morningside Church tradition of inclusion, it is our desire to have staff and children with a variety of beliefs and backgrounds attending the preschool to enrich one another's lives. Save for a simple daily blessing and recognition of the diversity of celebrations going on during the holiday season, religious teaching is not a part of the curriculum at Edina Morningside Nursery school. All are welcome.

Our Staff: Beth Henrich, the Director of the preschool, has 18 years of experience as a preschool educator and director. Her own two children (now adults) attended Edina Morningside Nursery School when they were preschoolers! Our teacher, Jane Halverson has been an elementary and preschool teacher as well as a children's librarian. Together they bring over 30 years of experience in education to the preschool program.

General Program Plan

We offer a wonderful preschool program where children can make friends, play, sing, explore, create, laugh, learn and grow in a loving, safe environment under the guidance of skilled teachers. We have taken the best of our 60-year tradition of fostering socialization, self-esteem, and independence and enhanced it with fun and creative kindergarten readiness activities! We offer exciting, hands-on art and science projects, great pre-reading activities, field trips, daily outdoor play as weather permits, and much, much more.
